Personal Background

I first became fascinated with fitness, nutrition and holistic healing over 20 years ago when I faced my own health challenges.  My dedication to a healthy lifestyle developed and became stronger over the years as I healed myself, became stronger and healthier and continued to learn about all of the benefits of proper exercise and nutrition for the body and mind. My passion has always been dance, functional strength training, Pilates and Yoga stretching.

My greatest accomplishment is the balance I have achieved in my own life through my holistic approach to fitness and wellness!

Training

I began strength training over 20 years ago.  After years of training and studying, I graduated from the East Coast Instructor’s Training school in 1995, and received my first National Certifications through ECITS and ECA.  I went on to receive my certification through the American Council on Exercise, one of the most widely recognized National Certifications in the industry.  Before taking on my own clients I trained under the supervision of a personal trainer who I knew to have an incredible understanding of proper biomechanics and program design, so that I could be confident in my qualifications to work with my own clients.  As I continued my education in all aspects of fitness and holistic health, I began Pilates training and my life and body were changed forever!  I became leaner, more flexible, more relaxed and much healthier!  I was hooked!  I began studying every aspect of his philosophies and movements.  I started practicing Pilates as part of my regular training.  I focused on Yoga and Pilates techniques for my ACE continuing education.  I sought out training from a first generation Pilates instructor who was trained and certified by Joseph Pilates over 50 years ago in New York City, so I could learn the movements as Joseph Pilates taught them.  I now incorporate Pilates, Yoga, functional strength training and dance into all of my programs, making fitness fun and effective!
